Jesse Stratton Band to play at concert by the channel Friday

An evening of live music is scheduled for Friday, July 14, when the Jesse Stratton Band will perform at the next Sunset Sounds concert.

The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Patsy Jones Amphitheater in Roberts Point Park.

The band plays a mixture of Americana and Texas Country music, both original tunes and cover songs.

Jesse Stratton, born and raised in the Texas Hill Country, plays guitar, saxophone and harmonica at each performance.

Joining him are band members Kenny Martinez who plays percussion, John Ohlinger on bass and lead guitarist Tony Garossino.

Bring your cooler packed with food and beverages, the kids and friends and listen to the tunes as the sun goes down and the ships go by.

There is plenty of room for your lawn chairs and blankets.

Kids can play at the nearby playground while the adults listen to the tunes.

Folks also are welcome to bring their friendly dogs, if they remain on leashes and their people pick up after them.

The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the monthly concerts April through October.
