Moore McDonald Post 8967 selected for recognition by National VFW

Members of the Moore Mc- Donald VFW Post 8967 have announced that the post has been recognized by the National VFW as an “All American Post.”

To be honored with this award, a post must demonstrate exceptional commitment and accomplishment of both public and patriotic service, according to a press release from the post.

Of the more than 660 posts in the division, only 35 were selected for the distinguished award.

Post 8967 was ranked 15th out of those 35 posts.

This was the first time the post has received this award.

The post will receive a plaque honoring it as an “All American Post.”

Also honored were C. D. McCabe, post commander, and Daniel Mack, quartermaster, as All-American Commander and All-American Quartermaster respectively.

They were honored for their meritorious service to veterans and the community.

They will receive red and blue hats and pins, made specifically for those receiving the awards.

A few weeks ago, the post was named “All State Post” for the second consecutive year by the Texas State VFW.

McCabe and Mack also received awards for All-State Commander and All-State Quartermaster when the post was given the “All-State Post” award.

“The post members are truly honored to have been chosen for this award and extend their gratitude to the Port Aransas community for its continuing support helping to make this achievement possible,” said the press release.

A celebration of these awards will be planned and the public will be invited to the festivities.
