Message boards won't display ferry wait times this weekend

Due to electrical upgrades, wait times for the Port Aransas ferry system will not be available for display this weekend (Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16) on the overhead electronic message boards on State Highway 361, according to a news release issued today by the Texas Department of Transportation.

That goes for the sign on Harbor Island and the one at Highway 361 at Beach Access Road 1 on Mustang Island.

Display of the wait times is expected to resume Monday, July 17.

Motorists still can learn ferry wait times 24 hours a day by calling (361) 749-2850. They also can view live cams of ferry lines on both sides of the channel by going to the South Jetty’s website, www.portasouthjetty.com, and clicking on “Port Aransas ferry cameras.”
