The program, ‘Floating Habitat, a Balancing Act,’ was held in the Explorer Lab at the institute’s Marine Science Education Center. Institute scientists shared their research about floating nurseries such as sargassum and explained how the Deepwater Horizon oil spill impacted the habitat and the animals that depend on it.
