Pettus scored in the top of the first inning after Ajay Clark touched home on a fielder’s choice.

But then it was the Marlins’ turn. Logan Kreutziger led off with a line drive single to center field. Two errors and a wild pitch by the Eagles, followed by two walks, allowed Port Aransas to put three runs on the board.

The Eagles crawled back into the game after a Kreutziger wild pitch allowed Clark to score to bring Pettus within one.

The Marlins needed one run to put the game away. That run came on an RBI single by Noah Mack, bringing in Kreutziger to score in the bottom of the fifth.

Clark scored for the Eagles once more in the top of the sixth on a John Hodge double to center field.

Kreutziger closed out the Eagles, pitching a complete game and giving up no earned runs. He allowed just two hits, struck out two and walked two in the win.

Dean Foley pitched six innings for Pettus, striking out seven and allowing one earned run off five hits.

Mack and Kreutziger led Port Aransas at the plate, each going two for three. Travis Kandra had the only other hit in the game for the Marlins. With that hit, he drove in two runs.
