CCA chapter to hold banquet here

Tickets are still available for the annual Redfish Bay Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association Banquet on Saturday, April 29, at 6 p.m., at the Civic Center, 710 W. Ave. A.

“We always have people who buy tickets at the door. There is always room for anyone who wants to come to the event,” said Norman Oates, president of the chapter.

Tickets to the event are $75 per individual, $110 per couple and $45 for youth under 17, which includes a 2017 CCA membership and the meal complete with beer, wine, soft drinks and tea.

To purchase individual tickets before the banquet, go to ccatexas.org, and click on events.

In addition to the dinner, both silent and live auctions as well as drawings will take place during the evening.

The Coastal Conservation Association Texas is a non-profit marine conservation organization comprised of tens of thousands of recreational anglers and coastal outdoor enthusiasts. Founded in 1977, CCA began in Texas and has grown into a national organization.

In addition to conservation efforts, CCA Texas hosts the Port Aransas CCA Takea Kid-Fishing Tournament, which draws more than 200 kids annually. A portion of the funds raised at the banquet will support the kid fishing tournament.

This year the Take-a-kid Fishing Tournament is set for Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3.

CCA continues to support the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and other conservation organizations.
