Take me out to the ballgame! The Port Aransas Little League held opening day ceremonies at the Port Aransas Community Park on Saturday, April 1. The Little League softball and baseball teams gathered to kick off the 2017 season. Clockwise from upper right: Fifth grader Austin Bepko throws out the first pitch during the ceremony to start the season; from right, Hart Young, Henry Collins, Henry Black, Orie O’Mary and Beckem Edwards wait patiently for the festivities to commence; Stratton Mills, alongside Cash Mansfield, Colton Taylor, Gavin Johnson, Easton Taylor, Joe Sutter, Ethan Diaz and the rest of the Little League baseball and softball players, holds the American flag as the National Anthem is sung; the Blue Marlins softball team sings the National Anthem as the flag waves in the air; from left, Kamden Reiter and Wyatt Kelley of the Blue Marlins tee-ball team say the Pledge of Allegiance during the opening day ceremony prior to their first game of the season against the Black Marlins; and Henry Black, who plays on the Black Marlins, gets a big hit during the opening game of the season.
