‘Green’ donation

Courtesy photo Courtesy photo In an effort to be ‘greener’ and reduce the use of nonrenewable plastic water bottles, Keep Port Aransas Beautiful contributed $300 to the Farley Boat Works to pay for a water cooler and supplies on Friday, Feb. 10. Presenting a check are, from left, Frank Morgan, KPAB vice-chairperson; Julie Findley, KPAB chairperson and Frank Coletta, boat works manager. Coletta had attended a KPAB meeting where Jace Tunnell, director of the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute, talked about marine debris. Since that meeting, the boat works has discontinued using Styrofoam coffee cups and will instead sell boat works coffee cups. Coletta approached KPAB about sponsoring the cost of a water cooler to reduce the need to purchase water bottles.
