For Beaches Café and Bakery, 13 was a lucky number.

The eatery’s Sweet Barbecue Sauce was 13th in the top 15 best sauces for pork across the country.

The selection to the 2012 Sauce of Honor list was made by the National Barbecue News.

Bob and June Pettit are owners of Beaches as well as the Port Aransas Brewing Co. whose Stopher Burger was named 44th in Texas Monthly magazine’s top 50 hamburgers in 2009.
