Disco dance on Friday
Dressed in a wig and screamingly 1970s garb, Jenni Kite gives first graders a lesson on how to disco dance in the H.G. Olsen Elementary School gym on Monday, April 9. The lessons will come in handy when kids boogie on down at the school’s annual disco tomorrow, Friday, April 13. Jenni is president of the school’s PTO.
STAFF PHOTO BY DAN PARKER It’s time to do some disco dancing.
H.G. Olsen Elementary will hold its annual disco dance from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 13.
Pizza and drinks will be on sale. Hair painting also will be offered and a prize drawing will be held.
The school is asking for parent donations of items to go in the baskets for the drawing and cake items for the cakewalk.
Pre-k, kindergarten and first graders need to bring items for movie baskets (popcorn, candy, movies, etc.)
Second through third graders are asked to bring items for arts and crafts.
Fourth and fifth graders need to bring games for family game baskets (board games, card games, water games, etc.)
The fun will include a costume contest and a dance contest, and there will be a flash mob.
“DJ Ken” will play plenty of disco tunes.
Admission is free.
The school needs volunteers to decorate the gym beginning at 1 p.m., and also to help clean up after the dance is over.
