The regional tournament is scheduled for Brenham Country Club in Brenham on Monday and Tuesday, April 16-17.

Rachel Davis, Megan Forrest and Maddison Shannon posted identical scores of 109 and finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the girls’ tournament. Jocelyn Flood carded a 115, Anna Roberson scored 116 and Sydney Hogan posted her best score of the year with 130.

HUDSON ROSS HUDSON ROSS Coach Kris Jones said the identical scores among three Lady Marlins resulted in officials’ going to players’ score cards, where the score on the course’s most difficult hole (the 17th) determined the finish.

“The girls played well, but were a bit disappointed to finish four strokes behind Woodsboro (first place finisher),” said Jones. “They’re excited about playing in Brenham next week.

The boys posted their lowest team score of the year by three shots, with a 350, finishing seven strokes behind first-place Falls City. A to- tal of 10 teams competed in the boys’ division.

“ O u r guys think we can (get the score) much lower,” Jones said. “They also are very excited about competing in Brenham.”

Hudson Ross led the Marlins with a 74, the secondlowest score of the tournament. Andrew Follett, with 84, was just inside the top 10 scorers. Dakota Cowen carded 92, Tyler Burns hit 100, Hudson Marraro was 121 and Harris Hipp posted his lowest score of the year at 125.

“All of these kids have improved as the season progressed, but as many golfers can attest, we sometimes have a difficult time finding consistency,” Jones said. “We’re looking forward to representing Port Aransas at the regional level next week.
