Marlins put the hurt to Agua Dulce foes
The list of hits looks like a team roster: Andrew Groseclose posted a 3-for-3 game with a double, a home run and five RBIs. John Amundsen got a hit in his only trip to the plate, while Connor Collins got one hit and three walks. Caleb Rogers (triple, 3 RBIs), Andrew Follett (2 RBIs) and Jake Roberts (double, sacrifice, 2 RBIs) each went two for three. Tyler Pate got two hits in four at-bats, one of them a triple, while batting in five runs. Blue Shodrock went one for two and Thomas Winton was one for three to round out the Marlins hitting.
The offense was concentrated at the start of the game, slamming 13 runs in the first inning.
Shodrock started on the mound, allowing one hit and no runs while striking out one batter. Amundsen took over in the second inning, fanning two and allowing no hits and no runs.
Pate finished the game and picked up the win, striking out one and allowing no hits.
The win brings the Marlins to a 15-2 overall record; they’re 4-0 in District 31A.
