The loss was the first in district for the ladies, and puts them in a first-place tie with La Villa in District 31A.
“We didn’t play badly, our mistakes were just very costly,” coach Steve Reaves said.
Reaves explained that the Lady Marlins made a fielding error and misread a ball as well as making some base-running mistakes that cost runs.
“These are things you can’t do against good ball teams and expect to win,” he said.
However, Reaves added, “The girls are starting to play well. We just have to keep it going.”
