Wanted: Volunteers
Project Graduation will be manning a bake sale Friday, April 21, at the Family Center IGA as well as working at SandFest April 20-22, so the organization is looking for volunteers.
The bake sale will include chances to win a two-night stay at a Cinnamon Shore condo (including golf cart); tickets are $5 each or five for $20, with the drawing to be held June 1 at the Project Graduation event.
If you’d rather work on the beach, call Bev Gilbreath at (361) 739-6857. Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts each SandFest day to do odd jobs such as taking tickets and cleaning up trash.
High school juniors and seniors who volunteer will accumulate extra chances to win what Gilbreath called “awesome prizes” at Project Graduation.
Other bake sales are scheduled for Saturday, May 5 and Saturday, May 19, and volunteers are sought for those events as well.
Project Graduation, a nonprofi t organization, is a lockin party for Port Aransas High School seniors and juniors on graduation night. It is an alcohol- and chemical-free party during which games and activities are played and seniors win prizes donated by merchants.
