Marlins rack up win on the road

The Port Aransas Marlins continued their winning streak on Tuesday, March 27, this time with the victims the Pettus Eagles on the Pettus diamond. The Marlins came away with a 7-1 victory, allowing Pettus only five hits.

Caleb Rogers took the mound for the Marlins and collected the win, going five innings. He allowed all five of the Pettus hits and their lone run but struck out six.

John Amundsen took over in the sixth, shutting out the Eagles while striking out five and walking one.

Tyler Pate brought the big bat to the game, getting hits on three of his four trips to the plate, including a triple. He had three RBIs.

Zack Cleveland also got a hit on his sole at-bat, while Jake Roberts hit once in two trips. Andrew Groseclose, Caleb Rogers and Andrew Follett were each one for three.

The district road victory left the Marlins at 12-2 overall and 2-0 in District 31A.
