Farenthold to speak at Rotary Club today

If you’ve wanted to talk to your congressman, today is your chance. Congressman Blake Farenthold, R-Corpus Christi, speaks to the Port Aransas Rotary Club at noon today, Thursday, April 5. He will address the impact of Washington, D.C. on Port Aransas and ask Rotarians’ opinions of that impact.

It’s the first time a U.S. congressman has spoken to the Port Aransas Rotary Club, Rotarian Bill Lehmann said.

After his address to Rotarians,

Farenthold will stay to talk with any interested Port Aransans. He’ll be at the Pelican’s Landing restaurant, 337 N. Alister St., starting at 1 p.m., Lehmann said .

The Port Aransas club is among the smallest among Rotary’s 56 South Texas clubs, but works with other organizations – Kiwanis, Port Aransas Boatmen Inc. and others – to help the community. A major effort for years has been scholarships for graduating high school students.
