BMS track teams bring home medals

STAFF PHOTO BY MARNIE PATE Brundrett Middle School tracksters did “very well” at a meet in Yorktown on Friday, March 23, said coach Javier Mendoza. He said the kids are “getting set up for the district track meet” today, Thursday, March 29, in Kenedy. Field events are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., Mendoza said.
The rain date for the district meet is Saturday, March 31.
First place ribbons were brought home from Yorktown by eighth-graders Miles May, boys 2400-meter run; the boys 400-meter relay team of Camron Collins, Jesse Marraro, Blaine Lancaster and Connally Waight; Waight in the boys 100-meter run; Marraro in the boys 400-meter run; May in the boys 1600-meter run; Julie Johnson, girls 100-meter run; and Lauren Allen, girls 200-meter run.
Seventh-graders who took first places were Kyle Jones, boys 110- meter hurdles; Devin Pate, boys 100-meter run; Hatton Ross, boys 100-meter run; Samuel May, boys 200-meter run; Ross, boys 200-meter run; Sophia Marraro, girls long jump, girls 100-meter run and girls 200-meter run; Lauren Hernandez, girls 800-meter run, 100-meter hurdles and 400- meter run; Marissa Harder, girls 100-meter run; Kourtney O’Malley, girls 200-meter run; and Charlotte Ramsden, girls 1600-meter run.
