Road rage? Man waves assault rifle in traffic jam
A 20-year-old man is out of jail on $500 bond this week after being charged with waving an assault rifle at people during a Spring Break traffic jam.
Witnesses told officers that the man apparently became frustrated when traffic was stalled on Friday, March 16, about 4:45 p.m., on the beach near Beach Access Road 1. He got the rifle out of his car and threatened people with it, they said. No shots were actually fired, police reports show.
Officers charged the man, Enrique Adan Trevino, with disorderly conduct – displaying a firearm, a Class B misdemeanor under Texas law. Conviction can result to up to 180 days in jail or a fine of up to $2,000, or both.
Police records don’t show where Trevino lives.
