Wanted: One good lead guitarist; Winter Texan preferred
If you’re a Winter Texan who has always wanted to be a rock star, here’s your chance.
The PA Rockers is looking for a good lead guitarist who plays 50s and 60s rock and roll – preferably one who also can sing.
Interested rockers may sit in with the band on Wednesday, March 21, the band’s last gig for the winter.
Mark “Doc” Munson, who created the band about two years ago, said the Rockers’ lead guitarist, Joe Jackson of Columbia, Mo., is retiring from the band that entertains on Wednesdays at Bernie’s Beach House during the Winter Texan “season” in Port Aransas.
The group practices during December, then takes the stage from January through March, with a break during Spring Break.
Munson, of Brainerd, Minn., is drummer and vocalist for the group. He is joined by Bob Reed of Colorado who plays rhythm guitar, keyboard, blues harp and is a vocalist.
John Boeckler of Lake Tomahawk,
Wisc., plays rhythm guitar and congas.
The only member of the band from Port Aransas is Charlie Rouzer who plays Hammond (organ). He also plays for the Texas Blues Runners out of Wichita Falls.
