FISHING REPORT

Catches good; live bait back

Offshore anglers continue to return with shark, pompano, kingfish, amberjack, vermilion and lane snapper, grouper, tuna, and some ling.

Anglers in the bays are catching redfish, black drum, speckled and sand trout, sheepshead and whiting. Many bay anglers are using live bait.

Fishermen on the pier caught whiting, pompano, redfish, black drum, gafftop, stingray and sharks.

North jetty anglers returned with sheepshead, redfish and speckled trout.

According to Scott Garrison of Fisherman’s Wharf, offshore catches this week included vermilion and lane snapper, amberjack, kingfish and shark.

Bay guides have been bringing in nice catches of redfish, speckled trout and a few black drum.

Anglers on the north jetty returned with plentiful catches of sheepshead, redfish and speckled trout.

Gary Carter at Dolphin Dock says anglers caught pompano, vermilion, kingfish, warsaw grouper, mako shark and amberjack offshore.

Bay fishermen brought in redfish and sheepshead while using live shrimp.

MaryAnn Heimann at Offshore Adventures said people are coming from the bays with limits of redfish and a few speckled trout. Anglers are using live bait. There were no offshore trips this week.

Matt Antonelle at Horace Caldwell Pier says anglers on the pier caught many whiting, pompano, redfish, black drum, gafftop, stingray and a couple of sharks.

They are mostly using dead shrimp, squid and cut mullet.

According to Kristin Swan at Deep Sea Headquarters, this week offshore anglers brought in blackfin tuna, amberjack, shark, vemilion snapper, grouper and a couple of ling.

Bay anglers are catching redfish, trout, black drum and sheepshead.

Art Singleton of Woody’s Sports Center says bay guides are hooking redfish, black drum and flounder using mostly live shrimp.

On the Island Queen, anglers caught sand trout, whiting, redfish and black drum. They used mostly dead shrimp, mullet and squid.

There were no offshore trips this week.
