Marlins to host tournament

STAFF PHOTO BY DAN PARKER The Port Aransas Marlins will face teams from San Antonio, Ingleside, Kingsville and Benavides when they take to the diamond for the first time in the 2012 season today, Thursday, March 1.

The occasion is the fourth annual Third Coast Baseball Tournament, hosted by Port Aransas High School.

The Marlins will take the field against the Ingleside junior varsity at 6 p.m. on Thursday. At 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 2, they’ll face Cornerstone High School of San Antonio. Saturday, March 3, will see a double-header, with the Marlins going against Kingsville Academy at 5 p.m. and Benavides at 7:30 p.m. in the tournament’s closing game. All games will be on the baseball diamond at Port Aransas Community Park, 700 Clark Pkwy.
