Architect to speak on sailing March 8
Do you have a passion for sailboats and reconstruction of traditional ships? If so, come hear a talk by Peter Falus on Thursday, March 8, about sailing, racing sailboats and ship building.
The free talk, titled “Sailing Through the Ages,” will be at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St., at 7 p.m.
Falus is a retired architect who, as a teenager, spent a few years on a square-rigged sailing ship in the North Sea off Norway.
He has raced sailboats on the open ocean, and has been involved in the reconstruction of traditional ships as a hobby all his life.
As a skilled draftsman, Falus created drawings to show how the ‘Tina’ was put together for the Port Aransas Museum. The ‘Tina’ is a restored Farley boat.
He is involved at the museum annex, the Farley Boat Works, with a boat-building class.
