Students get half-day off on Friday

Students in Port Aransas ISD will have a free afternoon tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 24. They’ll be released after lunch for a teachers’ work day.

Schedules at H.G. Olsen Elementary and Brundrett Middle School will remain as usual until the normal lunch hours. Students may eat lunch in the school cafeterias, and will be released at 1 p.m.

At Port Aransas High School, zero hour runs from 8-8:45 a.m., first period is 8:50-9:30 a.m., second period is 9:35-10:15 a.m., third is 10:20-11 a.m., fourth is 11:05-11:45 a.m. and fifth period will be 11:50 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Lunch is from 12:30- 1 p.m., and no classes will be held after 1 p.m.

Unless notified to the contrary, all high school students, including freshmen, may eat lunch offcampus on Feb. 24; however, students are also welcome to buy lunch and eat in the cafeteria. To do so, they must sign up for oncampus lunch by 9 a.m. on Feb. 24.
