Prayer Shawl Ministry seeks yarn donations

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is looking for donations of yarn.

It takes three packages of yarn to make one shawl. So far, the knitters have donated all of the yarn to make more than two dozen shawls. They need some help for supplies.

Knitters also have requested the names of any persons in the hospital, shut-ins, persons in assisted living or needy persons who might receive the comfort a shawl provides.

Anyone wishing to receive a shawl may let the JELM know at 749-5321.

Evelyn Niebrugge is the organizer of the group, which meets Monday afternoons in the JELM Library.

The pastor, Tricia Tedrow, blesses the shawls before they are distributed.

The JELM is located in the Community Presbyterian Church complex and is a not-for-profit organization, serving Port Aransas and neighboring communities.
