Got a sweet tooth?

It’s still Girl Scout cookie time

Girl Scouts are still selling cookies around town through Sunday, Feb. 26, and booths will be set up around town through Spring Break, or until supplies run out.

Business locations are being sought to host the girls. Contact troop leader Lu- Ann Ferguson at 749-5141 to schedule a time for the girls to come to your business and sell cookies.

Eight varieties of cookies are offered this year: Caramel deLites, Thin Mints, Shortbread, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Lemonades, Shout Outs! and Thanks-A-Lot.

Boxes are $3.50 each.

Troops are asking those who are on a diet or are diabetic to make a donation toward the purchase of boxes being sent to the military. The girls will collect money to buy the cookies and the cookies’ destinations will depend on what contacts they have made as the time nears.

If that cookie craving is calling to you and you cannot find a Girl Scout, contact Ferguson at 749-5141 and she will make arrangements to get cookies to you.

Cookie sales are the major fundraiser for Girl Scout troops and money raised will be used for supplies and troop trips.

Port Aransas has Daisies (kindergarten and first grade), Brownies (second and third grades), Juniors (fourth and fifth grades), Cadettes (sixth through eighth grades) and one Ambassador ( in 12th grade). There are no seniors (ninth and 10th grades) at this time.
