Bargain seekers

The citywide garage sale had many dozens of folks buzzing around Port Aransas, snapping up bargains on Saturday, Feb. 18. Garage sales were held at more than 50 locations around town. Most sales were at private homes, but some were big spreads at places like the Community Center and Fred Rhodes Memorial Pavilion at Roberts Point Park. The event’s mission was to reduce, re-use, reycle and re-purpose, to prevent so much junk from going to landfills. The citywide garage sale was sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Keep Port Aransas Beautiful.
