This week, offshore anglers have reported catches of vermilion and lane snapper, kingfish, amberjack, grouper, yellowfin and blackfin tuna, dorado and several large sharks.

Bay and pier fishermen have caught redfish, black drum, speckled trout, pompano, sheepshead, whiting, sting ray, and a bonnet head shark.

According to Kristin Swan at Deep Sea Headquarters, anglers offshore have been bringing in kingfish, vermilion snapper, amberjack, grouper and large sharks this week.

Bay fishermen have been getting redfish, black drum, trout, sheepshead and pompano.

Art Singleton from Woody’s Sports Center said fishing has been a little slow due to several cold fronts coming through recently, but it has picked up the last couple of days.

Fisherman in the flats are catching redfish and sheepshead.

Woody’s didn’t have any offshore trips, but that should pick up when the weather gets a little warmer, according to Singleton.

Scott Garrison at Fisherman’s Wharf reports offshore fishermen have been catching vermilion and lane snapper, kingfish, amberjack and shark.

On the long range trips, fisherman hooked yellowfin and blackfin tuna, dorado, amberjack, grouper and mako shark.

Bay guides brought in redfish, black drum, sheepshead and speckled trout.

North jetty anglers have been returning with sheepshead, redfish and large speckled trout.

Gary Carter at Dolphin Dock reports catches of vermilion snapper, kingfish, am berjack and mako shark. One shark caught this weekend weighed in at 362 pounds and a second one weighed 450 pounds.

MaryAnn Heimann at Offshore Adventures said fishermen in the bays have caught redfish, sheepshead and a few speckled trout.

Offshore anglers returned with vermilion and lane snapper and kingfish.

Heimann says “Live bait is still hard to come by, but spring is just around the corner,” so catches of live bait should increase then.

According to Matt Antonelle at Horace Caldwell Pier, anglers fishing off the pier caught large numbers of whiting and some pompano, black drum and stingrays, as well as a bonnet head shark.

Anglers used dead shrimp and cut bait and fished off the bottom.
