Find out how some folks in Port Aransas spend their spare time at a “Love it! Hobby Day” on Thursday, Feb. 16.

The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department will host the hobby show-and-tell event at 1 pm at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St.

Nebraskans Karen and Tim Helzer will demonstrate how taffy is made, using a 1903 Helzer family recipe. They will demonstrate the unique craft of candy making and samples will be available for purchase.

Peg Srader of Port Aransas will share her cake decorating techniques and Port Aransan Mike Secich will show off his hobby, stain glass making.

Dave Srader of Port Aransas will tell about his passion, the new Port Aransas Cart Club.
