Filing starts Monday for city, school water district
Prospective candidates for city council, school board or water board may file for places on those ballots starting Monday, Feb. 6. Candidates may pick up packets at the respective administrative offices of each entity. The filing period ends March 5. Early voting will be April 30 through May 8, and Election Day is May 12. All but one incumbent will seek re-election to either the city council, school district or water district board of directors. Also on the ballot will be several charter amendments being proposed by the city. Following is a list of positions held by incumbents whose terms are expiring. SCHOOL BOARD Margaret Price, Place 1, president of the Port Aransas ISD Board of Trustees, is stepping down. The other two incumbents, Ann Appling in Place 7, and Janice Roberts in Place 2, have said they will seek election.
