History talk is Monday
“Assault on Mustang Island” by Guthrie Ford will be the next Winter Lecture Series presentation on Monday, Jan. 30.
The free lecture will be held at the Community Center, 408 N. Alister St., at 7:30 p.m. Wine and cheese will be served beforehand next door, at the Port Aransas Museum, at 7 p.m.
Ford is a local historian, writer and Port Aransas Preservation and Historical Association board member who has been instrumental in researching and archiving much of the history of the area. He also is a member of the Nueces County Historical Commission and has validated, received and installed several historical markers in Port Aransas.
The lecture series, hosted by PAPHA, is held each winter and is open to the public.
The remainder of this year’s lectures include Jim Moloney discussing his two new area history books on Feb. 13 and “Mercer Logs Publication” by Ford on Feb. 27.
