Glenn Martin, former city council member, mayor, member of the Port Aransas ISD board of trustees and the Regional Transportation Authority, was named the 2012 Citizen of the Year last night.

Martin also has been active in fisheries issues that impact the Port Aransas charter fishing industry.

The award is sponsored by the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce-Tourist Bureau, and it was during its annual celebration at the Civic Center that the award was presented.
