Final exams scheduled

Final exams for the first semester of the school year will be held at Port Aransas High School Wednesday through Friday, Jan. 11-13.

The third-period exam will be from 9 to 10:35 a.m. on Jan. 11, with the sixth-period exam from 12:50 to 2:10 p.m. Other periods that day will be 8-8:50 a.m., zero hour; 10:40-11:20 a.m., fourth period; 11:20- 11:56 a.m., lunch; 2:15-3:20 p.m., seventh period.

On Jan. 12, the fourth-period exam will be 9:50-11:20 a.m., the fifth-period exam will be 12-1:30 p.m. and the seventh-period exam will be 1:40-3:20 p.m. Zero hour is again 8-8:50 a.m.; first period is 9-9:45 a.m.

Friday, Jan. 13, begins with the zero-hour exam 8-8:55 a.m., the first-period exam 9:9:55 a.m. and the secondperiod exam 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Lunch will be from 12-12:30 p.m., with no classes scheduled after lunch. Students will be released for the rest of the day at 12:30 p.m.

Regardless of their exemption status, all students must attend every class during the exam schedule, said Port Aransas High School principal Sharon McKinney. She noted that because the times allotted for the zero-hour and first-period exams on Friday are shorter than other exam times, teachers may begin those exams on Thursday.

The second semester begins Tuesday, Jan. 17; Monday, Jan 16 is a teacher work day and students aren’t required to be at school.
