Animal Friends to discuss landscaping
A brick-landscaping project planned for the City of Port Aransas Animal Shelter will be topic of discussion at an Animal Friends of Port Aransas meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Members and those interested in the welfare of animals at the shelter are invited to the city’s Parks and Recreation Building, 739 W. Avenue A, at 5:30 p.m. to hear about an engraved brick campaign to gear up for the landscaping project.
Plans are for the engraved bricks to be used for landscaping around the shelter and in a Memorial Garden for pets.
Money already has begun to be raised for the project through the efforts of Port Aransas High School student Michelle Arnold who has been collecting aluminum cans to sell. Organizers of the project are asking others to save their cans as well. Arrangements to have cans collected may be made by contacting Arnold at (210) 528-0514.
