Lewis Eugene Wilcox, 54, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, after a battle with stage-four adenoidal cystic carcinoma.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Trinity-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 433 Trojan St.

He was born Aug. 8, 1957, in Wichita, Kan., to Ruby Alice and Dale Wilcox.

He was a 30-year resident of Port Aransas and was employed by Nueces County Water Control and Improvement District No. 4 for 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Debra, and son, Brad (Therisha Moreno) Johnson, both of Port Aransas; his father; four brothers, Joey (Lynn) Wright of Port Aransas, Ronald (Pam) Wilcox of Amarillo, Raymond (Pam) Wilcox of Rockport and Jimmy Wright also of Rockport; five sisters, Myrna Fuller and Lucretia Jones both of Rockport, Bernadine Wright and Debra Wright both of Corpus Christi, Chasity Wright of Clear Lake; and three grandchildren, Hayden, Isabella and Gabrialla Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Capt. Peanut Wright; two sisters, Linda Wright and Martha Alma Johnson; and brother Steven Wilcox.
