January art classes announced
Artist wannabes are invited to learn how to make hand-built pottery, jewelry and mixed-watermedia collage at the following workshops offered at the Art Center for the Islands in January .
Bill Hildebrand will show students how to hand-build pottery in his class scheduled for Mondays, Jan. 23 through Feb. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Course cost is $150 and will include all supplies, clay, glazes and tools. Participants must pre-register and pay by Monday, Jan. 16.
Sue McClurg will teach Beading with Dichroic Glass Cabachon on Monday, Jan. 9 for $35, including supplies. She also will teach Wire Wrap Beach Glass for $25 on Monday, Jan. 16, and Traditional Wire Wrap for $30 on Monday, Jan. 23. Her classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and students must pre-register and pay by the Friday before each class.
Gay Greer will teach the bead weaving classes on Wednesdays, including: Tube Bracelet with Crystals on Jan. 11, Hop Scotch using Tila Beads on Jan. 18 and Caterpillar Bracelet on Jan. 25. Her classes will be held from noon to 4 p.m. for $50, including supplies. Pre-registration is required at least one week before the start of each class.
Debbie Cannatella will offer a three-day Mixed-Watermedia Collage class on Monday through Wednesday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Class fee is $275 and pre-registration is required by Monday, Jan. 23.
