The junior varsity Lady Marlins took charge early in the game against the Yorktown Kitty Kats at Yorktown on Tuesday, Dec. 13, taking a first-period lead and outscoring the hosts in all four quarters for a 38-7 victory.

The Port Aransas girls put up a 13-2 lead in the first quarter and extended that to 19-3 by the halftime horn.

In the third period, they outscored the Kitty Kats 15- 2, and although they scored only four in the last quarter, they still put up more points than their opponents.

Jordan Morris and Kellie Owens shared scoring honors for the Lady Marlins with nine points each, and Susana Valdivia was close behind with eight. Sydney Hogan and Marian Smith each had four and Emily Roberson and Carlie Munoz put up two apiece to round out the Port Aransas scoring.
