Dennis Wayne Walker of Port Aransas died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011. He was 68.

Walker was born on July 25, 1943, in Jefferson City, Mo.

He was a U.S. Army MP during the Vietnam War, earning the bronze star.

Walker worked at Woody’s Sports Center for 20 years and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Walker of Port Aransas; son, Kelly Walker of Plainview; stepson, Roy Koontz of Peyton, Colo.; granddaughters Skyler and Keeley Walker of Idalou; brother Dwain Walker of Plainview; and sister, Louise Harmon of Plainview.

His ashes were scattered at sea on Monday, Dec. 19.
