Kids can get photos with Santa Saturday
Relay For Life activities are beginning to be scheduled.
This year, Santa Claus will even get in on the action when he stops by the Alister Square Inn, 122 S. Alister St., to help out Team CCMS at this first fundraiser for the 2012 cancer awareness event.
The public is invited to bring children to have their pictures taken with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. The cost of a photo is $7.50 per pose per child. Copies of photos will be available for $5 and additional photo orders must be placed at the time the photos are taken.
For more information about Santa’s visit, stop by Alister Square Inn or call Sue Williams at (361) 443-0171 after 5 p.m.
Relay For Life is a global event to raise money and awareness and to honor those lost to cancer and celebrate survival. Months of fundraising will end with an overnight relay, when team members take turns walking or running around a track or path.
The Port Aransas relay will begin at 7 p.m. at Roberts Point Park and continue until 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 28.
It’s not too late to get involved in Relay For Life. As a matter of fact, organizers are looking for individuals and teams to get signed-up now.
To participate, individuals and teams must register on the Port Aransas Relay For Life Website, http://main. acsevents.org/ site/ TR? fr_ id=41019&pg=entry. Survivors also may register at this site.
The site has more information about the relay event and the American Cancer Society. Donations may be made online and visitors may read survivors stories and buy Luminaria in honor of a loved one.
