Ladies take wins from Pettus

STAFF PHOTO BY MARNIE PATE The eighth-grade Brundrett Middle School Lady Marlins beat the Pettus Lady Eagles, 34-17 in a contest at Pettus on Monday, Dec. 12, while the seventh-grade girls posted a 32-5 victory.
The eighth-graders took an early lead, outscoring Pettus 12-2 in the first quarter and leading 18-6 going into the locker room at halftime. They maintained the lead through the rest of the game to post the win.
It brings the ladies to a 3-1 season record and a 2-1 record in District 31A.
Ashten Snyder did more than half the Lady Marlins’ scoring, with 18 points; Julia Johnson rounded out the double-digit column with 10. Ashley Mack put in four points and Tanai Murray hit two.

The seventh-grade girls evened their scoring with 16 in each half, holding Pettus scoreless in the first half.
Sophia Marraro led the Port Aransas girls with 10 points, with Aubrey Sergeant hitting eight, Charlotte Ramsden putting in six and Marissa Harder and Brittney Walker each scoring four points.

The Brundrett Lady Marlins are idle until Thursday, Jan. 5, when they journey to Woodsboro for another District 31A contest.
