Early morning collision claims local man’s life
Jonathan Roos, 52, died after he was ejected from his 1991 Jeep in the accident, which happened at 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, just north of Beach Access Road 1A. John Eric Dominguez, 32, is charged in the death.
Police reports say both vehicles were northbound on the highway when Dominguez’s vehicle rear- ended Roos’s Jeep. That caused the Jeep to spin, throwing
Roos from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt, the report said.
Dominguez suffered no apparent injuries in the accident. He was taken to the Nueces County Jail Tuesday morning but at deadline had not yet seen a magistrate and his bond had not been set.
Intoxicat ion manslaughter is a second-degree felony and is punishable on conviction by from two to 20 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
