Eggleston named by AP scholar program

Port Aransas High School senior Chris Eggleston was named an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction last year, but his name was left off the published list of scholars because of an error in numbering.

Eggleston received a certifi- cate from the Advanced Placement Program confirming his selection.

In a letter to him, program vice president Trevor Packer said Eggleston is now “part of a unique group of students worldwide who have successfully completed a rigorous series of college-level courses and exams.”

The letter said the AP selection will be noted on any score report sent to colleges.

“AP is accepted by most two- and four-year colleges and universities for college credit, advanced placement or both on the basis of successful exam scores,” the letter said.
