Dunes ablaze

A fire in grassy dunes near the 700 block of Island Retreat on Monday, Oct. 24, destroyed about one-half acre of grass but threatened no buildings, said Port Aransas Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dwight Kirkpatrick. Kikpatrick said there was no obvious cause for the fire. Nobody was hurt.
