BMS takes 3 of 4
Both quality and quantity showed with Brundrett Middle School runners at the district cross-country meet on Monday, Oct. 24, as both the seventhand eighth-grade boys took first place, the seventh-grade girls posted a win and the eighthgrade girls came in fourth.
“We had so many runners, a couple of coaches from other schools asked if we had any students left at school,” coach Javier Mendoza reported.
“That is a compliment to the kids,” Mendoza said. “When we started the year in August, when it was super hot, to today, when it was just hot, these kids represented us well all season.”
Mendoza said of the 32 who competed, 20 returned to Port Aransas with individual medals. They included a first-place ribbon, three second-place ribbons and four third-place ribbons.
