New exhibit, chair sale featured at First Friday

The reception will open the “Island Treasures” exhibit featuring original art by Rosie Denis, Monique Dix, Betty Irey and Christi Mathews

The reception is free, open to the public and will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the center, 323 N. Alister St.

Also at the reception will be the kick off of a fundraising chair sale, Chair-I-Tee! If You Care-Buy a Chair. Fourteen wooden cafĂ© chairs, each uniquely painted by area artists, will be for sale as a major fundraising effort for the center’s building fund. The chairs will not go on sale until the reception, but will remain for sale until all have been sold.

Guests are invited to meet the artists, socialize and enjoy the sale, live music and refreshments.
