Chance of rain here tomorrow slight
A Pacific Coast storm system will bring some much needed rainfall to South Texas this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.
A 30 percent chance of rain is forecast for Port Aransas on Saturday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. when chances drop to 20 percent.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region on Saturday, as moisture increases in advance of the approaching storm system, according to John Metz, warning coordination meteorologist at NWS Corpus Christi.
Thunderstorms will increase Saturday night, initially near the Rio Grande, then are expected to spread east across the coastal plains through Sunday morning.
Metz said a few strong storms might be possible, with gusty winds up to 50 mph and small hail. Another round of thunderstorms will move across South Texas Sunday night and early Monday as the main storm system moves slowly across Texas.
