Whosical in Seussical?

Last call for auditions for youth theater show

Last call for children wishing to audition for the Port Aransas Community Theatre winter youth production of “Seussical Jr.”

Auditions continue tonight, Thursday, Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pollock Center, located behind the Community Presbyterian Church at 113 S. Alister St. An upcoming PACT production prohibits use of the theatre for these auditions.

H.G. Olsen Elementary School students in grades two to five are invited to try-out.

“Seussical Jr.” draws from the Dr. Seuss books Horton Hears a Who!, Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, The Cat in the Hat, If I Ran the Circus, McElligot’s Pool, Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories, Horton Hatches the Egg and I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew.

Ken Yarbrough is directing this production, a cooperative effort between the Port Aransas Independent School District and PACT. This will be the second such effort between PAISD and PACT. The first was Aladdin, Jr. in December, 2010. H.G. Olsen music teacher Gay de Montel will include the songs from the show in her music class.

Showdates are set for Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 1-3.
