Kilgore
Danny Edmond Kilgore Jr. died on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, from a sudden illness.
H e was the son of Carol Kilgore of Port Aransas and Corpus Christi, and the brother of Nancy Kilgore of Port Aransas.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1956, in Corpus Christi. He was educated in the Tuloso-Midway School system and was named to the all-district basketball team. He also was a member of the Warriors marching band and in his junior year represented his school at Boy’s State.
Kilgore received a BBA degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. He subsequently attended Texas State Technological College in Waco, where he received a degree in Laser Electro-Optics and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa honorary society. He began work in the semiconductor industry in Sherman before working for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system repairing high-speed electric trains.
He was a member of Dallas Lodge No. 22 of the Sons of Hermann and of the Dallas Humanist Group. He enjoyed composing for and performing on the electric keyboard and the acoustic guitar, as well as surfing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel E. Kilgore.
Other survivors include his brother, Christopher Kilgore; uncle, Dr. Christopher (Patty) Isensee of Durango, Colo.; aunt, Ray Kilgore of Tampa, Fla.; and cousins, Grady M. (Carol) Isensee, Hugo H. Isensee, Luke O. Isensee, Dr. Sally K. (Tom) Cooper, Anna I. (David) Isom, Beth I. (John) Welsh, William (Debbie) Kilgore, Tom Kilgore and Frank J. (Judy) Kilgore.
Memorial services will be held in Dallas and in Corpus Christi at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice.
