Saturday, Sept. 17, is your chance to adopt a furry fourlegged friend for free.

The Port Aransas Animal Shelter will hold an adorable and adoptable pet adoption day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the shelter, 409 W. Cotter Ave.

The shelter is located behind the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce-Tourist Bureau.

The shelter has cats, kittens and several dogs needing good homes. T-shirts, caps, jewelry and more will be on sale at the event to help raise money for the shelter.

The fee to adopt a pet from the shelter is $25, but the fee for cats will be waived for this event.
