Dart players are invited to a meeting to get the 2011- 12 dart season organized on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

It will be at 7 p.m. at the Moore-McDonald VFW Post 8967 post home, 311 N. Alister St.

Dart players are advised to contact their team captains and teammates if they plan to be on the same team.

Players not on a team and who want to play in a co-ed league, should come to the meeting to sign-up. Teams will be looking for players, said league spokesman Marty Stroman.

Officers will be collecting sponsorship fees and players’ fees from teams. The team fee is $50, and the player fee is $15.

The start and end dates for the season will be determined at the meeting, and will depend upon how many teams are formed. Typically the season extends from the first Tuesday in September until mid-March, with breaks for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Stroman said. Play is held on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at various locations in Port Aransas.
