If you have an emergency today, Tuesday, June 21, and you have a hard time getting through to Port Aransas police by calling 911, try the department’s non-emergency line: (361) 749-6241.
PAPD Chief Scott Burroughs said his department is having technical trouble with its 911 line. The problem, which began shortly after 3 p.m., seems to be with an AT&T switching center, Burroughs said.
If you call 911, and there’s no answer by the third or fourth ring, try the non-emergency line, Burroughs said. AT&T is working on fixing the problem, he said.
